MAME Screen Tearing D3D DDRAW, Choices Choices Problems and more Chocies
Chunce DeLeone:
What do you think is the best way to get rid of screen tearing?
Also I have about three or four different ini's I use for say Vertical 80's games, Blown out 90/2000's games like SF3, and classics like Robotron. I have been researching how to create lots of ini's all at once for the individual games and I think I have the answer, but is there a version of MAME where you can do on the fly ini creation or switch from D3D to DDRAW without having to exit the game then create an ini, find out the name of the rom, drop it in the ini folder etc etc. It would be great to be able to start a game, realize which ini would be the best and then change that on the fly with the TAB menu, anything like that out there?
HaRuMaN:
I use triplebuffer and that eliminates screen tearing.
Chunce DeLeone:
Yeah but then I get sound studdering.
HaRuMaN:
What are your system specs and which version of MAME are you running?
MAME TIME:
its a dog on the system, but the reason for the studder can be a couple of things, your system specs are low...or the games aren't displaying in the correct resolution, for instance if you try and run street fighter 2 with defualt mame settings no switching the resolutions in the options you might get some studdering (triple buffer on). or you can modify the games ini in the ini folder (sf2.ini) to display a lower res for instance no Hwstretch and 352x256 and the game won't studder and there's no tear. Remember to have the switching resolutions turned on in the mame.ini file. It worked for me and some games you have to play around with the res. Specs?
