Changing a Dark Legacy over to Blitz/showtime 2k
« on: October 17, 2007, 10:24:20 am »
I have found an old thread back in 2005 that addressed this, though did not answer all my questions.  This is where I am at, I have swapped out the drive, the chips, and put in the new graphics board, game fires up, but have a joystick problem.  Picked up a i-40 board, and a wire harness from an old blitz 2k, but this is only for the CP (which does have a connection to the i-40 board), I need to know how to connect the controls to the jamma harness, and either to find a Aux adaptor board or how to make one.  Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Can you reference the link?  I have a Blitz 2000 that I'd like to turn to a Gauntlet.

4 person?  If so are you looking to do this as a temporay switch?  Or permanently?  And are you looking for a Legends or Dark legacy?  I can help you with the change, if you can help me with my change...  First you need a hard drive plus chips, you can get a Legends conversion on e**** to a Dark Legacy, which will have the hard drive and chips, you also will need a different graphics card, I will get the board number you need.  Now the tricky part is the joystick wiring.  You do not need the Aux output board, and the i-40 board ( aux out put is a 20 ribbon pin on the board that goes to a 15 pin wire then that goes to the i-40 board under or near you control panel.  I need to know where you are at with this, plus I need to ask you a lot of information about your current wiring, please email me...

I'm guessing I can't do this.  Mine doesn't have a graphics card.  It's the "other one" which hardware type escapes me at the moment.

This would be easier for you to switch, because you can get a full legends board, with graphic card cheap, go to ebay and do a search, there are  couple of ones on there.  Then you have to do a little wire change for the joysticks, just pick up a wire diagram and it would be a little easier.

I think the gauntlet hardware is much more rare than any of the Blitz boards and more desirable too. I wouldn't mess up that Gauntlet setup, if you really want a Blitz board I'm sure you can buy one cheap or trade for one.

I don't have a cab for it; just the board/HD.  I bought it at an auction.  Had no HD when I got it.  Used CHD image to make one, it works fine.  But I have no interest in it.
