Microswitches Are Way Too Clicky

(1/7) > >>

fjl:
I found my joystick and Happ buttons to be way too noisy. Even my computer's mouse doesn't click that loud. So I've been fooling around with the microswitches and I figured out a way to make the click sound go away completely! Plus the microswitches now seem to have a way better response time as well. Feels way smoother. Seems like I can press the button a lot faster unlike before where you have to wait for the button to return back up by hearing the click return noise. I have yet to try leaf switches but I'm thinking this is how they must feel.

I'm still testing this out but so far it seems to work pretty good. Anyone else done this that I don't know about? These are the Cherry Microswitches by the way.

shardian:
So what exactly did you do?

javeryh:
well?   ;D

fjl:
Well I can't go into detail right now since I to leave for work in a few minutes  :-\
When I get back from work.

But it doesn't involve bending of the small metal parts or anything or damaging it in any way. It certainly does feel way better though since the throw distance is a lot shorter. Feels really smooth.

MrMojoZ:
So you made them feel more like japanese buttons?
