I actually considered it.  I am going to use it 99% of the time for song selection in WinCab so...

i was thinking about checking out those happ mini trackballs after hearing about it. i didnt realize it was so much money though. that is way to much. there is some examples of trackball hacks on the front page you may be able to adapt to a smaller version. maybe if you get something working you can do a full out tutorial.

I've got an old (like 1998) Compaq notebook travel mouse that is actually a TB. The main problem is that the ball itself can't be much more than 3/4" - not exactly what you want. The ball is closer to what you would see on a rackmount server keyboard/trackball combo.

I don't have it with me (it's at my work), so I can't look up specs, but it's a PS2 unit with encoder wheels and can be yours for the low, low price of shipping. PM if you want it; I can look up more info on Monday.
