Track and Field Issues
Malenko:
I was jokin, what I did before I had an IPAC was set up the P2 joystick as the run buttons, so I had to wiggle the stick left to right to run. What are you using for inputs? IPAC, KB Hack, Controller hack, etc?
Marky_1979:
Im using a Hagstrom encoder ke72-t the one with trackerball interface. Do you think the encoder is the problem?
Marky_1979:
Is it just me having problems with this or have some of you guys experienced this problem? If so please could you help me with this problem I love track and field but it doesnt feel well emulated at the moment and im not sure what the problem is could be software, rom or even encoder/ set up. Please help :)
Katana Man:
Well, I just did some testing, and too my surprise, holding one button does cancel out the other button. I could have swore that didn't use to be in the past. That can certainly slow things down. I'm not a fan of that at all. Can anyone else do this test? Or even better yet, does the real thing act this way?
Marky_1979:
Yeah thats a very good point I remember when I used to play this back in the day in the arcades it was a challenge but achievable to get the speed right up if you thrash the 2 buttons fast enough.
But with the buttons cancelling each other out it kinda makes having 2 run buttons pointless and the game solid and near on impossible to get any good times.
Thanks for taking the time out to do some tests mate hopefully the answer will be found Im sure someone out there has over come this issue or can say why its reacting like this. I really dont think the arcade version had this button cancel problem but I could be wrong.
Cheers
