got U360 + long shafts ... confused ** SOLVED (missing a part)**

<< < (2/3) > >>

ARTIFACT:
thanks for replying! Your projects rock :)

is there an exploded view of all the components somewhere online by any chance?

Do you see what I mean by the inside part of the shaft being longer?

When I assemble the U360 stick with the longer shaft like the other (untouched/regular) U360, the magnet hits the bottom PCB.

At least could someone confirm that this is how the longer shaft is shaped / looks?

I WAS RIGHT!

Look on the Ultimarcwebsite:

(longer shaft for oval top)

See the black plastic "sleeve"?
JUST as I expected/thought it was missing

I need ot double check throughout the 2 packages Divemaster127 sent - maybe it is just missing

PHEW! I thought I was going to go crazy

but even then. By "longer under the CP" I mean longer INSIDE THE JOYSTICK

if that makes more sense

look at the pics. Instead of the stick being longer outside the U360, it's the part under the lip (thinner part of the shaft) that is longer.

Sorry to hijack,

So the longer shaft is for flush mounting the metal plate to the under side of the 3/4" wood?  I'm ordering some soon is why I ask.  Thanks!

csa,

Yes. Alternatively, you can use a router to remove some wood, mount the stick in the recess, and use the regular shaft with a wood CP. This is what I did. If you like your joystick up high, you might even rout the wood and use a long shaft.

Correct

BTW ... THE U360 ROCKS ... WOW .... I love it...

It *is* a different feel compared to regular arcade sticks, but I even love how SOFT/SMOOTH the regular spring feels, and even the long throw (not THAT long compared to what I read people's posts about it) without restrictors. I don't want it harder to move, nor do I want restricted / shorter ... NICE NICE NICE

Last night, I played Ms Pac Man in true 4 way joystick feel (OK no restrictors ... but still!) ... soooo nice... night and day compared to the previous one I was using (x-arcade / 8 ways).
