mad dog mccree + DAPHNE? ... or just get the DVD edition?

(1/2) > >>

ARTIFACT:
I did search, but only ooold threads from 2004 and 2005 are coming up... so i figured I'd ask again to see if the people here who use DAPHNE can give their input

Does Mad Dog McCree run on DAPHNE, with ActLabs USB gun support?

That would be sweet... That's an arcade I spent $$$ on back in the day... I had forgotten it until recently.

I saw that a "DVD Version" is out now... should I just get that?

turbo6:
No, Mad Dog does not run on Daphne. If you want to use the Act Labs Lightgun then you need to buy the CD-Rom version as this one works with the gun. The DVD's do not work with the light guns.

ARTIFACT:
OK

is this the version that came out YEARS ago though, with crappy image quality?

thanks

Howard_Casto:
You've gotta be a bit more specific.  The ALG games, like most laserdisc games, have been released countless times.

If you mean the old dos versions, then no, these are better, but obviously as they are just cdroms the image quality isn't as good as the dvd's.  You can dump the cdrom game to your harddrive and then dump the dvd files on top of it and they work in the pc game though.  Of course this requires you to buy both versions and isn't officially supported.

ARTIFACT:
very interesting - you gave me the solution then :)

thanks a bunch.

Sorry for the vague question - I literally remembered that game the day I posted the question ... even doing my homework (search, etc) didn't make my question that precise / make sense.
