mame ports

Anybody here use noname mame or  mameanalog+ with mala?  I'm looking to use dual light guns as well as other analog devices.  Would noname mame or mameanalog work well with Mala and newer romsets?

The current official mame & mame32 support multiple lightguns and mice/trackballs.  Is there any other reason you want to use noname or analog+?  If it's just for lightguns, it's easier to just use the official mame/mame32 with current romsets: some of the lightgun romsets have changed since the last analog+.

(If you still want to use analog+, I'll help you.)

Well I'm running swapable control panels and was anticipating that mameanalog or noname would be necessary to run multiple lightguns, analog sticks, pedals, multiple spinners etc....in other words, lots of analog controls.  I did a search and turned up those 2 modified mame programs that would be optimal for this.  I am concerned about what frontend and mame port will most utilize my setup and my current romset (.114).  I was thinking mala as a frontend but wasn't quite sure what mameport I should run.

Well, I think your info is a year out of date.

The main reasons I wrote analog+ are now part of official mame.  Multiple trackballs, covered in official mame.  Multiple spinners, covered.  Multiple lightguns, covered.  Multiple pedals, covered better.  Analog sticks, I didn't duo anything here anyway.  Only reasons now to use analog+ are some game specific features, some of which I heard might be universally covered (in the core vs game specific hacks I did) within a year or two. ;)

Yes, in most cases.  You'll get the widest help, most games, and most features.  OTOH, old computers & specific games might be better otherwise.
