Isolation transformer

If your installing a new monitor that does not require an isolation transformer in an arcade cabinet where the previous monitor needed an isolation transformer.  Do you have to remove the isolation transformer?

You don't really have to remove it from the cab. You can just disconnect it from the live wiring.

ok i'm thinking about replacing my electrohome g07 with maybe a wells gardner k7700 in my galaga cabinet I'm just hoping there isn't any problems with leaving the transformer hooked up but if there's a risk maybe it would be best to unhook it

Absolutely not!  Feel free to leave the iso in the cabinet.  Though your new monitor doesn't require it, there may be a time in the future that you'll need the isolation.  It'll be there if you do.

Let me put it another way: using an iso transformer on a monitor that doesn't require it won't hurt the monitor in the slightest, but the other way around will kill your monitor.  Use it with no worries.

Hold on thar! You're replacing an Electrohome 19" horizontal (shelf) mount monitor with a Wells-Gardner 9" horizontal (shelf) mount monitor?

The 7700 is a 9" horizontal (k7000) and it requires an isolation transformer.

And after reading about all the trouble with Wells-Gardner monitors (especially the "digital" ones), you're still going to buy one?

well I have not made up my mind. I am thinking of buying a Vision Pro Monitor Mikes arcade sells one with a cocktail mounting frame.  I posted a topic asking if Vision Pro monitors are any good.

I take it all of Wells gardner new monitors are equally as bad?
i'm seriously considering Vision Pro now I just hope there not bad.

I appreciate your time if you have any advice or suggestions i'm open to them.

thank you Chris
