Contemporary Arcade Cabs

Do these things exist?

I'm not even sure what defines, "contemporary," style. All I know for certain is that contemporary is whatever is apprently defined at stores like Ikea. And what I see at Ikea is um.... whatever the ---fudgesicle--- is contemporary I guess.

My housemate wants a contemporary cab running Centipede and/or Bubble Bobble.

I'm thinking I can get away with building something like a Knieval slimcab and getting away with calling it contemporary.

Or you could go all out like forum member ROM. One good example along the line of what you may be thinking...

Here's a more recent PIC.  What a great, unique CAB!

MaximRecoil:
Any of the sitdown Japanese "Candy" cabinets would probably be considered "contemporary" (whatever that word means -- it denotes something new every 5 minutes it seems):

Obviously you're not going to build one of these, but they usually aren't particularly expensive either, and they come with a large monitor (27"/29" I believe).

shorthair:
Those are contemporary. What's 'not particularly expensive'?

On the orange cab: very cool design.  I'd put more curves on it, but definitely smoother than most.
