T molding is garbage
Hawk Daddy:
What in the world do I use to hold this stuff in place, it's all loose and stuff, and looks like crap, Is there some glue or something that I am suposed to use?
Hawk
Jeff AMN:
It should fit just fine unless you ordered the wrong size. If you want to hold it in place with glue, however, try something like wood glue.
Edit: This stuff rocks - http://elmers.com/homerepair/ultimateglue/index.asp
CheffoJeffo:
Or routed too big. Or has an old cab with worn slots.
I like to use hot glue for loose t-molding.
Cheers
Hawk Daddy:
Yeah it's that old galaga that I just got repainted, and I ordered new t molding and it just isn't working out as planned.
Jeff AMN:
Here's what I'd do:
I'd fill your slots with glue, get the T-molding on quickly (but nicely) and then use a damp rag to wipe off the excess glue. You're going to need to use quite a bit of glue to make it hold well. Also, don't leave the t-molding as is while the glue is setting. It can easily separate from the cab while drying. You might want to use strips of electrical tape to hold the t-molding in place while the glue hardens. Just make sure to wipe off the excess glue while it's wet or you'll have a tough time getting it off without hurting your paint job or the t-molding.
