Millipede whats the price range for one of these? NOW WITH PICS
Hawk Daddy:
Well I'm hoping to get this one for less then $100 also, I wouldn't mind having the cabinet, and the track ball in it. And heck maybe even just leave it like it is and play it.

Well I went to look at it today, and it's missing the back, the marquee, and it doesn't work. It powers on but doesn't make any sounds. The side art is in good shape, and he only wants $40 for machine. Not sure if it's worth it or not, I'm already wanting to make a 1 player machine with just minimum buttons and a 4 way joystick to play the classics on and maybe this one would be the perfect candidate to get a cabinet out of it.
Here are some pics
Wo do yall think it would be worth it just to have?

I would buy it, but that's just me. I don't know if you're going to be up for all the work to either get it in playable shape again or to MAME it. I would love to see this cabinet get a full restore instead of any other fate, but that's not really for me to decide.
With the side art in such good condition, a collector would probably pay $200-$300 for it even though it's broken.

$40 Dollars!!! Get it man!!!
You could always put a PC monitor in there, old P2 or P3 computer that you got laying around, old rev. of MAME, mouse to Trackball hack, and you got yourself a Centipede/Millipede multi. It will be a lot cheaper than a full restore, plus you could keep or sell the internal parts. Get a new marquee for $35 and you are in bidniz...
If you want to do the 4-way-joystick-and-button-regular-MAME, that is up to you... I suggest you make an extra control panel out of wood so you don't hack up the original CP.
The "humane" thing to do with MAMEing original cabinets is to make the conversion easily reversible, and to hack the original machine as little as possible.
I know that once you get one cabinet going, you will want another, then you will want another bigger and better one, then you will want to restore the Millipede, then you will want some more dedicated original cabinets...
It just gets out of control for many of us, we start with one, then pretty soon you are turning over cushions on the couch trying to find change for the next Super Auctions... and you are constantly scouring Ebay and Craigslist for arcade cabinets...
Well...Good luck what ever you decide to do...
Hawk Daddy:
I've already got it bad. I Have a galaga that just got done being painted yesterday goin got pick it up tomorrow, and then going to put all the peices back into it. I have a big cabinet, that I bought a 2.8 ghz p4 to put in it, and have a key wiz coming from groveygamegear and I've already got my buttons, and plan to use the joystick from mercs, so I'd have one extra that I could use for a new cabinet, thats why I was going to buy a cheap pc, just to put it in, I'd do a keyboard hack because I wouldn't want to buy an ipac or keywiz for just a few buttons. So I think I'm going to pick this one up tomorrow, and then just set it aside until I get done with my big MAME machine.
