best way to take apart buttons ? microswitch disassembly
mrclean:
whats the way proper way to take my microswitch off my button it seems stuck I dont want to force it
am_monkee:
I usually just open it up where it's connected on the lower part and then just push up. I don't know if this is going to help, as it's hard to explain in writing. The switch is connected in two places. It seems stuck b/c it's secure, but you just need to pry it a little and it'll pop out. Hope that helps.
modessitt:
I had a button the other day I couldn't get the microswitch to come out of. Turned out to have a little screw through the side that held the switch in place. Look for that before you force it and break it.
BTW... when trying to figure out something on a generic part like this, try posting a pic of what you're working with so we can see if we're familiar with it.
shorthair:
Your standard cherry microswitch on a standard Happ button is held by two pins, on arms connected to the button on one side. (There's a two-pronged retainer on the other side.) Pry lightly on the lower (or, if it's upside-down, upper) arm, then push up. (This is merely a more-detailed description that am_m was trying to explain.) Do the same with the other arm pin. Fini.
RayB:
Usually, you just push the switch so the TOP arm is no longer holding it, then swivel the switch upward on the lower arm until it's free to pull out.
