Racing cabinet MAMEWAH themes?
Turnarcades:
Does anyone know if there are any MAMEWAH skins/layouts designed specifically for a racing cabinet? I'm looking for inspiration and even though I can find themed skins for light gun games etc. I can't find any for racing games.
I basically just want one layout for MAME driving games, and although I'm pretty creative and handy with photoshop, I'd like to see if anyone has done any nice menu screens that I could work from....

I wouldn't say this is neccessarily 'racing themed', but I got the idea for my layout from the RoadBlasters control panel art. You can get it here, but note it is for 368x240 resolution:

Thanks minwah. I had come across your cabnet once before but when I was looking yesterday I couldn't remember where! I was probably too tired or somethin!
I'm gonna work from that I think and I'll let you know how it goes.
Got a question though. I'm using the Gran Turismo force feedback wheel on my cabinet. It's great on the PS2, and great for games like Out-Run where the original steering wheel turned 270 degrees (was it?). However it doesn't work well on games like Super Off-Road or top-down racers like that when the original wheel was a 'free-spinning' wheel that spun freely 360 degrees or more.
Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity by software alone (ie MAME) or would it just not be possible? I ask cos although I love these few games, I don't want to swap out my fantastic GT wheel and lose the feeling in my PS2 racers...

I'm afraid the games you mention (Off Road) etc. need to be played with an optics based free-spinning steering wheel, full stop.
Perhaps if you cannot fit another wheel on your panel you may be able to fit a TurboTwist2 with mini steering wheel knob?:
