Looking to buy Vinly Button labels

<< < (4/5) > >>

Pongo:
Just finished my first test cut.

First, the good news. (see pic 1) They look real nice on the buttons.

Now the bad news. (see pic 2) That is a scan of the sheet after weeding. The red X's are the ones I feel to be flawed. That's about half of all the text labels. Add that failure rate in with the fact that it took me nearly an hour to cut and weed that sheet.

I am at a point where I honestly do not know what to do. I would love to be able to help out and cut these for some of you, but I do not have the time to weed these sheets, and the failure rate is way too high on the text. (I can cut more, but it still comes down to the manual labor time to weed.) As you can see I tried some different styles hoping they might work better, but they all had failures. I was hoping to charge around $10 for a full sheet, weeded and ready to stick, but I'm not sure I can meet that, and I think anything higher is too much. The quality is too low at this point for me to sell them due to the failures.

One solution would be to offer a set that does not include the little text. All the icons worked really well, so maybe 25c instead of coin, and so on. The other text could be done as a circular arc over or under the button. This would make it large enough to not have these issues. Those of you that have expressed interest in these, what are your opinions? Are you only interested in on-button stickers?

Thanks

Knievel:

Looks like you found the Slicker font I got Mike to use on my decals.

Reading your last post really makes me realize how much work he put into my sheets.

Did you try bolding that font? I got him to make it as bold and as big as possible, while still fitting on the button. Might make the weeding process easier.

Pongo:
Yea,... I had several people asking for the slicker font, and it is a style that works well at that size. I did make it a bit bolder already,... perhaps I could try a bit more.

Can you tell from the pics of the buttons how the types sizes compare? Were his letters about that size or larger?

And yea,... I really have to hand it to Mike for being patient enough to weed through those sheets. It is a lot of work and very tedious. I usually turn down stuff that is under 1/4" in size because  of this, and those text labels are just over 1/8". This is definitely a case where I won't be charging for the materials, just mostly my time, which unfortunately can be extensive on the little stuff.

I hope to post some new alternatives tonight, so stand by for more info.

Kaytrim:
One option Pongo, that Mike offered was unweeded sheets.  There was a discount for the unweeded ones.

I agree. Offer weeded and unweeded sheets. That way you can charge more for the weeded ones and not feel bad and those that need a cheaper option can do it themselves. I'm definately in for a few, going to figure out what exactly I need monday but I think what you're showing there works.
