MAME Atari Starwars - Need to reverse joystick Y axis.

(1/1)

BazookaJo:
Okay, after much p-balling around I decided to ditch my idea of a home made SW yoke and try find a decent off-the-shelf alternative.

Currently I'm playing around with e-dimensional's Gyroscopic-Pad and it might just work - (I definitley prefer it over Microsoft's Dual Strike, but when they fine tune the script for the wii controller it could be the daddy).

Anyhoo, just a couple of problems so far - first the calibration is tricky using the "twisting the yoke to the extremes" method, in fact it's impossible in analogue mode, though switching temporarily to digital mode seems to get close.

As for up and down, I can't remember how the arcade works off the top of my head, but rotating the pad forwards and backwards seems to have the opposite effect of what I'm expecting.

Anyone know how to switch this over - and no, there isn't an option with the Joypad's software or drivers :(

Many thanks in advance

Joe.

BazookaJo:
Never mind - sorted it :)

Tab -> Analogue controls -> Reverse X Axis.

Cheers

Joe.

P.S. Changed my mind about G-Pad - just not enough accuracy.  Crosshair seems to jiggle about even when your hands are steady as a rock ???  Otherwise it would have been a real alternative :(

Just for the record, wiimotes work great..... feels quite similar to the real thing.

BazookaJo:
Thanks Howard

Read your article on the wii Star Wars script, but I though it was still in 'test' stage.

Unfortunately I don't have a wii and nor does anyone I know, otherwise I'd have given it a test :(

At £40 the wiimote's a little steep for a buy before you try experiment.

Def. need more feedback on this before I shell out.

Thanks again

Joe.

Howard_Casto:
Well it can also be used as a lightgun and a steering wheel, so you get your money's worth.
