Newegg and motherboards.....SLI??
shmokes:
In case my post doesn't make much sense, perhaps you didn't notice that you originally posted this in the forum discussion forum.
leapinlew's suggestion would probably not even work, but even if it worked you would be asking for trouble. Swapping motherboards should always be accompanied with a fresh install of Windows (usually you will have no choice because Windows will no longer even boot). The only time this doesn't apply is when you are swapping with the exact same make/model motherboard, in which case Windows doesn't even know there have been any changes made.

now it looks as if they don't have the board I want anymore. So I have a question
Not that I need it for MAME but what is SLI for anyhow?
SithMaster:
Lets you use two video cards at once. And by that i mean for games like FEAR you should get a huge performance boost over using just one card. Its kinda like using two sticks of ram.
If your not going to be playing the new games i would advise against it unless you really want it. specially since the 8800 (?) is going to be released or is released or something.
What kind of processor are you going for?
pointdablame:
If you wont be using two high end video cards, you don't need SLI.
Also, check if www.zipzoomfly.com has the mobo you want in stock.
squirrellydw:
yeah, I know I don't need it just didn't know what it was for.
I was going to use a socket 939 but don't like the MOBOs for it. So I think I am going to use a socket AM2.
I have to use ASUS MOBO, I just like them
