New WinIPAC and UltraMap software. Testers wanted!

(1/6) > >>

AndyWarne:
I have new versions of WinIPAC (for I-PAC etc) and UltraMap (for UltraStik 360) software.

WinIPAC:
www.ultimarc.com/winipac_1_2_14.exe
Changes are:

Vista compatible (athough the prog still stores IPC files in the app folder which is technically illegal in Vista but I thought changing this would cause confusion).

On the subject of Vista see my "Vista Rant" on the Everything Else Forum!

Attempts to workaround the issue which Windows has with the registry when moving USB devices from one port to another. (the older version worked around this until next reboot only). Microsoft have finally fixed this problem properly in Vista incidentally.

UltraMap
www.ultimarc.com/UltraMap_1_1_17.exe
Changes are:

Vista compatible (but with app folder storage for now, as in WinIPAC)

Eliminates issue with sticks being lost after a reboot.

Contains a map for "mouse pointer" mode which was introduced in firmware 2.1

When used with firmware 2.2, in command-line mode (as in a front-end), maps are downloaded to temporary RAM only, so that the permanent map contained in Flash will be reverted after reboot. In GUI mode maps are still permanently stored, and in command-line mode there is a /Flash switch for permanent storage. Firmware 2.2 is not fully tested yet but will be available soon.

Firmware update prevents update when more than one stick connected. Updating must be done one-at-a-time.

Let me know of any issues by email: andy@ultimarc.com

I must of missed the announcement, where's firmware 2.1?

Hi Andy,

Any timeframe on when you need this tested by?  I'm interested in the UltraMap testing because I will need to support this new version for my MaLa plugin, but I'm not sure when I will have enough time to dedicate to the testing.   :-\

Thanks!

AndyWarne:
Forgot to mention one important point, the older version must be uninstalled before installing the new, as the new version uses a different installer and the old installer might try to re-install it.
I had to switch to a new installer as the MS one does not allow registry key deletion, wich I needed to do to clear out the old entries.

Firmware version 2.1 was announced on here but  will have 2.2 ready in a few days.

I don't really have any specific deadline for testing...

Andy

I only saw version 1.7 on the site, what am I missing?
