How to find a real arcade cab within 200 miles of my location?
Havok:
If you want cheap, you'll have to do some legwork. Look around for arcade machines - they're still in some places.
* Usually, they will have stickers showing the operator they belong do. Give them a call. Most times they will hang up on you, but you might get lucky and find a guy that isn't a jerk and you might just get him when he wants to offload something.
* Check out Peale if you're near the northeast - Operator Blowout
* Craigslist sometimes has stuff from time to time. http://craigslist.org
* Another place is to post on the usenet boards - try: Rec.Games.Video.Arcade.Marketplace
Just don't give up: deals are out there, you just might have to work a little to find them...
Goz:
I'll second craigslist though the number of cabs is relative to the area.
Check superauctions.com and see if they come to an area near you.
Good Luck

Better than RGVAM - rec.games.video.arcade.collecting
RGVAM doesn't get nearly as much traffic and FS are allowed on RGVAC.

All good places to check. Yes, I did get lucky on my find. After a few visits the guy started to get wise and put the stuff on Ebay.

I got lucky. I bought a Jamma cabinet just like that one on ebay and the seller was within 45 minutes from my house. I was searching for 'arcade cabinet' in a local ebay search within 100 miles.
It was a Cabal machine for $30. Everything worked on it except the monitor. He was cleaning out his whole collection because of a move. A Dig Dug cabinet was $27 and a Virtua Fighter was sold for $55. I checked his completed listings. It was a little nuts. I wanted to buy more than one but had no space to store the stuff.
