minipac Jumpers (URGENT HELP NEEDED)

(1/2) > >>

Is the minipac supposed to have jumpers?? As mine has a mini-header on the board but no jumpers (my minipac has the self test green led).

It works fine when i program it in the test mode of the winIpac programming utility.  But the minute i turn the computer off it loses the setting, and i have to hit the "program" button again on the "key Assignments" screen.  Urgent help needed as this is a christmas present, just have the cp to get working and I'm starting to panic..

If it does need jumpers can someonelet me know the jumper configuration i need for programming the flash memory please

headkaze:
Check out the ultimarc website, it shows you how to program it. You can either program it temporarily (settings are lost on power-down), or write to the EEPROM. You have to read the instructions on how to program it perminately. You shouldn't need to mess with jumpers.

icesurf3r:
Is it supposed to have jumpers though?  as mine doesn't have any.

Have tried programming to the eeprom using ctrl+alt+p in notepad, but even that didn't work.

Have tried the IPACFIX from ultimarcs website and still no joy getting it to save the settings

headkaze:
Are you connecting your IPAC to your PC using a PS/2 connection or PS/2->USB connection.

You have to have a pure PS/2 connection I believe. BTW I'm no expert on this, I'm just trying to help out cos you sound desperate.

Apart from that I'm not sure what it could be.

icesurf3r:
nope it's PS2 -> USB

Problem solved!!!!!!! And all i did was switch it to another USB port on the same computer. How weird is that???

I can now go get everything else finished on the cab that i need to do, that i didn't do while i was panicking over this... My neice very nearly didn't have a christmas present..

But thanks for your help... The minipac is now remembering its programming  :D
