But again that's for organizational/ease of use purposes only... ultimately a notepad file can accomplish the same purpose for what I think you mean by "keyboard tester"....

(Sorry, didn't mean to double post... thought I pressed modify)

Amen to that.

Hacking is so not worth the hastle anymore.

thanks for your comments and i did consider a key encoder. i am from manila, philippines and ordering online is not always easy. i will have to pay more for shipping than the original product cost, not to mention the customs tax. there is also tech support and/or product returns in case something goes wrong. the ratio of expense:income is too high for me.

notepad doesn't show simultaneous keypresses.

Ahh.. This is true...

Then Winipac should pretty much work for you, if you ultimately decide to hack it up

That is a shame. I have heard horror stories from users who 'hack' . The keyboard interface was never designed for so many simultaneous key-press at at a fast rate.

I think there is minimal risk with something going wrong with a good name encoder.

Do you have a friend or relative going for a holiday to UK or USA who could get you one?   :dunno

Let me know if I can help somehow (I'm in Australia)
