No worries ... keep Melissa carving -- I am dying to see how Daphne turns out (I have been thrilled that my 6YO can now make it to the final level of Dragon's Lair so I can see Daphne anytime I want)!!

The CNBC show is being discussed on RGVAC (rec.games.video.arcade.collecting ... check groups.google.com) and all the info that you need is there.

The stuff I linked to on ArcArc is just cool stuff that should be viewed by one and all (be sure to save a local copy so as not to tax their bandwidth too much).

And if you are looking for cool arcade-related videos, don't forget to check out Coin-Op TV at Retroblast! (big thanks to KevSteele, RetroJames and the RB/COTV/GRM crews).

Cheers

Cheffo...the retro collection is awesome! In particular there amongst alot of great videos @ retroblast is one that really brings me back. This 8 yr old kid brought Donkey Kong to the Mr Rogers show. I love it when Mr Rogers trys to get his hands in there to play, and the kid keeps blocking him out. Kinda like...BACK OFF old man, You ain't got no game anyway. Classic, I love the whole thing.

Dude, this was me in 1983. Cept this kid is smarter than me and better at DK... :-[

No problem at all with playing it on a computer.... or as has already been said, most UK DVD players will also play it.

However! I also do near 100% perfect NTSC to PAL conversion using a hardware based decoder / encoder setup . So I can convert it to PAL if I want to.

The real problem lies with disks that are region coded (commercial movie releases). If a disk is coded region 1  then most DVD players in the UK will not play it, simply because we're in region 2.  Similarly Australia is region 4. In this case a disk made by someone at home is more likely to be coded as Region 0 which will play in All Regions. Although most PC's can be set to play any region at all.

Region protection is a laugh. Can't believe there are still people around who haven't "hacked" their DVD player to Region 0. In most cases it's just a couple of remote control presses....check out http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks
