Odd button question

(1/3) > >>

_) (V) (-):
I'd like to purchase a couple of them backlit rectangular buttons like the ones you'd see on a casino type slot machines to use for 'special functions' on my CP.

I'd like to get some that have removable inserts that I could print something one. I.E. EXIT and PAUSE, etc.

The problem? I don't know what these things are actually called.  :P
Could one of the super geniuses here shout out the proper name for these buttons?  It would make eBaying them a lot simpler.

Mega-thankies!
_)

P.S. If anyone here has a few they could part with, by all means shoot me a PM!

Everything I'm findin is pre-printed with words, and doesn't look interchangeable. I'll keep looking...

Ok! Here we go. A lot of these look like they can be customized. Check the exploded view in the PDF. Notice that the part of the button called the "legend" looks replaceable.

Happ mentions "Custom legend lettering designs and artwork available at nominal charge", bit I bet you can do it on your own either by inserting a printed piece of paper or attaching a cut vinyl image to the legend disk provided.

The only down side to the whole thing is that these buttons are very expensive. Maybe you can find one of the Happ suppliers here in the forums to help you out.

Crowquill:
Here's some pictures of a "budget illuminated pushbutton" from Happ. The white plastic insert does have the type screen-printed on, but it's nothing a little fine-grade sandpaper shouldn't take care of. From there, I just planned on printing out a transparency with what I wanted. As it worked out, I wasn't going to be able to use it lit, so I just used a laser-printed paper insert. It was going to be the credit button on a stand-alone joystick project. In the end, I got my cabinet and aborted the smaller joystick project.

AlanS17:
A rectangular button that looks like a coin insert slot... that's pretty clever!
