Donkey_Kong:
I was able to get AtomicFE up and running...like really fast! It is a neat front end. I'm learning how to tweak the settings now. I was able to change layouts with no problem 1st try...Nahh ok, 2nd try. Other similar FE's I have found to be impossible for myself to even get runnning correctly. Keep in mind that I'm not the sharpest tool on the shed.
One question for AtomiFE...Where exactly do I select music for background and that type of thing? Can't seem to find it in the manager. Oh and can I use my controller or joystick to select games up down and select?....Thanks!!
ATOMICFE Great FE :applaud: :notworthy:

Thanks a lot. :)
Concerning the background music. the Background music is "attached" to a layout.
So if you want change (or put) a background music , you have just to copy (or replace) a mp3 file and name it : Bkmusic.mp3 in the layout folder.
If despite the fact you have a file BkMusic.mp3 in the layout folder , you don't have the music , it is may be because the music is disabled in your config. In that case , open you config with AtomicManager.exe , click on "advanced options" , then go on the "Option" tab and on the sub tab "options 1" and check "Enable layout's Background Music if available" check box.
Concerning Controller , yes you can. But Basic Joystick support is poor in Atomic. You can go up /down the list , select game, run game..etc... but you can not for instance Add game to Favorite list , or access other features.
If you want do that with your controller , you will have to use a tool called Joy2Key (or JoyToKey) , that makes react your joystick as a keyboard.

OK......
When using the atomic manager, i save as atomic.cfg like it says. Then using multiconfigwizard, follow the steps, try to choose config, it's not there!
Whats up with that.
gonzobrian:
The multiconfigwizard does not use atomic.cfg. It makes its own multiconfig or modifies one already made. Depending on what you are trying to do you may not have to use the multiconfigwizard at all. For example if you use plug and play modules you do not need the multiconfigwizard at all. You would use the plug and play manager to make any changes that you want. You use the multiconfigwizard if you want to set up categories in mame or you want to set up other emues manually. There is a how to for the multiconfigwizard in the docs folder.
Hope this helps.
