Thats the best and easiest way to do it. You cut cut them to length to suit and they are secured to the strongest part of the monitor. Even normal shelf brackets can be cut.

Nice work.

The only problem if you decase the monitor completely is the controls for the power/colour etc sometimes 'flop' around. Try and leave the front of the monitor attached because that usually has the supports to hold the controls in place. Also the front plastic can act as a shroud to give it a clean look.

Good luck

I decased mine, and screwed it to a piece of 3/4" plywood.
I screwed THAT to two cleats that are screwed/glued to the inside of my cabinet sides.
There are some pictures around of the monitor bezel for it, but I don't remember how much of the mounting they show.

As far as the controls go, I just screwed those to the side wall of the cab, and used zip straps to hold all the chassis parts in place against the frame.

My only complaint at all about the way I mounted it is that I made the plywood that carries the monitor a bit tight for the cab.
When you are holding up the monitor guts on the backside of the plywood, some slop will allow you to get it into place alot easier/quicker.

Good news!

I took the case off and it seems my monitor has an extra casing that surrounds the entire unit.   There is not one visable wire or anything.  I'm still being careful.  I'm going to build a brace to mount to those tabs.

Thanks alot guys.  I'll post pics w/ updates later.

Was going to say, "Don't be afrade" hahahahaha...

I mounted a shelf board to the bottom of my monitor and put brackets inside the cab.  Set em in place and ran a screw through it on each side.

You lucky ---daisies--- with your fancy monitors.  The 17" pc monitor that I plan to put in my Mini-Galaga depends on the casing to hold the friggin PCB board from hanging from the various wires that connect it to the tube.

I'm going to have to make a custom mount for it and I'm not looking forward to it!
