Happ Perfect 360 and ground wiring problem

No. You must have 2 totally separate 5V.

Chiefy:
Right okay thanks. Will do that tonight cheers.

Just out of cusiousity I thought that by taking two leads from one 5v supply this would be the same as when you provide voltage to several pc hard drives using daisy chained molex connectors.

You got me thinking so I just went out and checked how my P360's are hooked up.  Both P360's (I have 2) 5v and ground are connected together and then attached to a single 5v and ground wire coming from a molex.  So you don't need seperate 5v power lines.

I had a 400watt PS that could not handle my cab.  It fried in about a week.  I replaced it with a 450 and all is well.

I played around with the wiring again last night and I agree with you. You shouldnt need to take 5v from separate rails off a PSU, you should be able to take it off different molexes that run off the same rail (similar to the way that one psu cable would power two hard drive off one rail).

So I hooked it up again and no longer got the directional problem, but now only one of the joysticks would work. If one was working the other wasnt, I would then reboot and then only the other would work.

Therefore I'd guess that the joysticks are not getting enough power. The psu is a cheap one and problem not very efficient when operating at high wattage. I'll replace it with an FSP PSU, lets hope that 350w is enough.

On a side note the 360's are the dogs danglies! Street Fighter II moves are so easy. Just need to find a decent stick for it now as the stick feels mega cheap.

Actually... the joysticks probably don't require much power... I use the 5V header on my IPAC to power 4 of them.... If 5V works on your PC and it does not behave funny (no weird crashes etc...) its going to be just fine for your 360's.

Yep... allthough try heavy duty springs... the really make a diff!
