can anyone remember name of this game...

Hi...

Just thought of a game that i used to play and would love to replay it but cant remember the name.... quite like 1942 but started out against basic aircraft from say the 1920's and then every level the aircraft became more recent/deadly i.e 40s aircraft then jet aircraft from 60s/70s I'm not sure what happened to the players aircraft regarding getting upgraded....but I can remeber that it was a awesome game possibly circa 1985-1990?
So if anyone has any ideas please let me know as I'm now 30 going on 12!!!!

Yeah, I'd have to say Time Pilot..also, wasn't there a sequel to that game?

Thanks everyone for your help, Ihave just found the rom and it is.......................Time pilot.... Thanks again for all of your help and it's good to know that I wasnt the only one who 'wasted' my childhood!!!! I think its great having just recently stumbled on mame all the possibilities..I guess next i'll end up going to one of these school disco re-union things next eh?
