Pac Reunion stick with Tornado Terry shafts

(1/2) > >>

brophog:
I know several people on here use these sticks. I've decided my t-stiks aren't cutting the mustard anymore for me after 6 months of use. I want to put in a dedicated 4-way stick and have become accustomed to the reunion stick through use at a local pizzaria.

The idea of using Terry's longer shafts is simple: I don't want to top mount and use lexan. Has anyone that has installed these longer shafts into a wood panel noticed a difference in feel from the original setup?

Lutus:
This has been discussed in numerous threads.  This thread as well as many others... (search for "reunion tornado terry") will get you started.

the tornadoterry shaft + 1 3/8" ball is around 3/4" to 7/8" longer than an unmodified reunion. this will mean that your hand will have to travel farther to engage in any given direction (i.e. there is a larger "dead zone" in the middle).

i use the tornadoterry and like it, but i haven't directly compared it to the stock reunion (my panel is wood, and the stock reunion is just too short).

Thanks robotron. That's the kind of thing that's not in any of the searches.

At any rate, the missus seems to have something against the color red. Looks like I'll use a versa-ball instead.

i avoided the versa-ball, because it's 1/2" to 3/4" longer than the tornadoterry. i think this will have a negative impact on game play.

mcmaster-carr carries many types of ball knobs that fit. there are some example part numbers on the web page referenced in my signature. besides the bright red polypropylene, there is a shiny black phenolic, a red phenolic (which is a dark burgundy/maroon color), and a plain aluminum (which is very nice but only comes in 1" diameter, which is too small for my taste).
