Glue for Lexan Sandwich

(1/2) > >>

rdagger:
I need to sandwich a few pieces of 1/8" Lexan together to make a 1" thick piece.
Can anyone recommend a glue that will leave the Lexan transparent?
Can I mix plexi in between the Lexan pieces to save money?

I'm really curious as to the reason you want a 1" thick peice. Whats the total overall dimensions your looking to get?

I'm pretty sure he wants to reenact a scene from Karate Kid Part 2!

I'm trying to perfect my volcano button lens casts by building a vacuum chamber.   The Lexan is for the chamber's view port which must withstand a vacuum of 30 inches Hg (762 Torr).  One inch thickness might be overkill, I probably could go 1/2", but I haven't found a good method to calculate the minimum thickness to avoid a catastrophic implosion.

I've also been looking for a good acrylic glue. Tap plastics has some good stuff available.  They say they dry "optically clear," so it might be what you're looking for. (Although, for my cab, I'm not really looking for clear, just really strong.)
