Can someone ID this 25" Betson (pics)

I'm not real experienced with arcade monitors. Its a 25" out of a Tekken 3. I looked at some of the sites like Bob Roberts. Chassis appears to be Kortek, but it's missing some of the stuff from the ones in his pictures. The numbers I have found on it don't seem to correlate with any Betson numbers I've seen. Thank you!

I got your email , just haven't had time to respond till now.

You have a kortek, but one that's a little different that I've seen. (Your chassis is lacking the sync flip switches)

Do you have the remote adjustment board?

It plugs into the white header near the back of the board. Without that board, your monitor most likely be damaged if you power it up without it.

On the kortek I worked on, I grabbed the manual for a shaper image 27" and it was close enough to work with.

Mine I had to rebulid the ac power supply section (Had a nasty hula), then I had a broken transistor on the neckboard (Actually broken, pin snapped off), and then I had a large resistor burn out right next to the flyback (I think it was 2 watt 1ohm), but it's been a while.It also had a broken width coil, but I subbed one from a 25" WG k7000.

I probally wasted many hours (10+) working on this monitor, and It still looks like crap compared to my other 3 25"
(The tube itself is weak)


Kortek themselves were no help in aquiring parts I even send them my chassis and they told me that they had no parts or manuals available.


I tried a 8liner chassis replacement on the tube, but I was a fool and didn't check my yoke resistance and the kortek is really out there, (High impedance instead of the regular)

Sorry to pass on these bits of bad news, but unless you really try, (And can troubleshoot the monitor without a flowchart), there isn't really that much help out there for kortek owners on the web.

It came out of a project cab I bought. Guy said it worked when the boards were pulled, but I have no way to test it. I was just trying to find out if it was something worthwhile before I invested any time in trying to use it in a project.

Thanks dabone... When I originally searched Google for info on monitors, your posts from here when you were going through hassles with the monitor were the ones I found. Using your info on the Betson Imperial 4050, I tried to find more info without much luck.

I was curious about the capabilities of this monitor, since I'm not sure if I even want to bother with it. The thing that would make it nice is that it bolts right up to the cab and is easily swapable from vertical to horizontal. I do have the remote board, it was set aside with the JAMMA harness from the machine.

Based on your experiences, I'm leaning toward passing on using it. That was basically the info I wanted to know. Whats weird is that I posted pics of that on a couple of forums and the arcade collecting newsgroup and nobody was able to identify it. I figured being a Betson, I would have had a reply in minutes.

Does it work?



If it does, then you have a 25" 15k monitor.


If not, It's not a good beginner monitor to try to learn monitor repair on.
(Due to lack of available parts)
