Latest Mame Versions & World Class Bowling/Golden Tee
daveg2000:
Hiya guys. Haven't been around for awhile.
Quick question to those of you who upgrade Mame on a regular
basis...
Back in the versions where World Class Bowling and Golden Tee
were first supported, they ran real good on my 1.6MHz PC.
Except the bowling lane had a big 'ol graphical glitch on it before
the ball rolled down the alley.
They fixed this in later Mame versions, but the gameplay
and sound were choppy in both WCB and GT.
I haven't downloaded the last 2 or 3 releases of Mame.
Any idea if the speed on these two games has been increased
by chance?
I'm not really that lazy and would just try it, but on my setup
it is a pain to transfer the Mame File on it, set it up and test it
(since I don't have that particular machine on my network.)
Thanks for any input. :notworthy:

I have a 1.6 in my cab. I have WC Bowling from release .63 and .96. There is a new version of WCB in .96 that enhances gameplay a bit over the .63 version. Both run great, with no stuttering. However, I greatly prefer the .96 version and it is all I play. ADDICTING!!!

Hmm... I will look for and try the 96 version per your feedback.
Thanks.

. . . do you have any links for that version of mame?
When I look at the 'Older Mame Versions'
on www.mame.net the date goes to 2003 and the .63 version
and nothing past that for some reason....?
What am I missing?

I think if you just manually alter the download link it should work:
