AC LINE FILTER and Arcade Monitor
flyinhi007:
Hello to all of you im glad i signed up i been building a mame and i got a ? of anyone out there who knows, is it necessary to use an AC LINE FILTER such as in bobroberts setup on his page...im trying to connect power to my arcade monitor and i was thinking....cant i just connect it directly to the POWER DISTRIBUTION BLOCK and then to my ISOLATION TRANSFORMER? espeically if my power surge protector already has all that EMI filtering? i cant seem to get a AC line filter anywhere in my town.
And yes i have looked on alot of forums for the past week and no help. Anyone got ideas?

If the line bringing power to your AC distribution block is plugged into a surge protector with internal line filtering, then it is my understanding you do not need another line filter like the one like in Bob Roberts diagram.
