mamewah background issue, read through tutorial but weird..
jcrouse:
I have seen this before. Are you running the Layout Designer on the machine you will be using the layout on, your cabinet? At some point it did not matter what the path in the .lay file said as it was not read anyways. The file needs to be named properly. if you layout is 01-layout.lay then the background NEEDS to be named 01-main.jpg and be in the same folder as the .lay file.

John that's it!
I went and just changed my background to arcade-main.png to match arcade.lay
the question is, I have also made a message and options background, so what do those need to be renamed to?
Finally, I have two pieces of artwork (#1 and #2) that I want the software to default to if there is no image for a particular game. Should those be placed in the artwork folders that are defined (example C:\mame\snapshot). Or do they need to be with the other files (main, message, option)? And should they be renamed?
THANK YOU SO MUCH, and if you need anything please let me know (not kidding) :).
