Upcoming SlikStik push/pull spinner (was: New TurboTwist Spinner from GGG)

--- Quote ---I dont own the GGG spinner but I could think of a few ways that it and the SS spinner could be push/pull.   You do it similar to what 1up did having the spinner "samwiched" between springs... but instead of two on the spinner shaft you could use eight.  One pair of springs for each mounting bolt.   Then you could use the same type switch actuators to tell when the spinner moves up and down.. i dunno.. it could work..   Here's what I'm thinking..

Brandon,

I guess great minds do think alike. Here are some early photos of our WIP version of the SlikStik Tornado spinner DOT style that we have been working on, it employs the same exact theory in the diagram you posted.

Spring tensions and vertical glide options are being developed as we speak.

This project has now been accelerated and will be released as soon as it is perfected.

Funny how a bit competition can accelerate a project.

Forgive me for being a little sceptical but on your own SlikStik forum you talked about producing one of these back in January 2004, you announce one year later in January 2005 that you had a test unit already made which works good but needs a little fine tuning before production. Now you have a little competition from the new TurboTwist™ Arcade Spinner Control from GroovyGameGear and you're talking about accelerating the project. I reckon Randy could start work on ones these in about one year from now and have it completed before you do. I hope I am wrong and if you do eventually make one, I will be first to buy one of you, unless Randy builds one first that is.  ;)

You guys should give him a break.  Funny how a bit competition can accelerate a project.  So you said it yourself.  Competition is ALWAYS a good thing.  It's one of the things that makes America America!  So yeah, someone might be sitting on a design for awhile, but if there's nobody he has to worry about bringing it out earlier than him, then there's no need to hustle.

I know there's some demand for these things, but there can't be TOO much demand.  Which is probably a major reason why it was so slow in coming.

Seriously man... Everyone needs to chill out.   Let the companies do thier thing and just like every other product thats out there, there will be pros and cons to each model.

  At ease, soldiers.
