Hello,
I have been working on my very first MAME cab since the beggining of winter. I found a guy who has tons of arcade cabs for sale in my area and amazingly he had the exact cab I was looking for, Mortal kombat 2. MK2 has been my favorite arcade game. I pumped insane amount of money into these machines. And because I did not have the proper tools to actually cut up wood and build a cab from scratch I went for this . He sold me the whole cab with all original components for 250$ all it was missing was the monitor. This is a original MK2 cab and not a mk1 or some other conversion. I had gotten a used (very) monitor from the same guy a few weeks later. It was a WG K7000 series manufactured in 1992. After using it for a month the thing crapped out on me. The image was completly distorted, Would make some very loud sounds too. So I took it to the guy for repairs and he did it for free, It worked for about a week then same thing started happening. I am now to the point where I would like the buy a new one. This time not used and no burn-in. Now my question is this. What monitor would be best for heavy mame use and mamewah. The now broken monitor I have is 25''. So I do not think a d9200 would work becuase they are 27''. What model should i get that will support highest resolutions. I see the k7500 supports slightly higher res than the k7000-k7400's. I am confused however becase the WG site says they do not have it available and HAPP says its made for certain games. Does this mean a k7500 25'' will not work with my mk2 cab? I am willing to spend good money on this and i really want to get the best possible resolution i can. Does anyone know IF a d9200 would fit in a orig mk2 cab? it looks like i have some space to spare and it might fit but would i need to move mounting brackets? Is there a monitor like the d9200 but that actually comes in 25''? Thanks for any input on this!
