Is 78" too tall?

I agree in that the 78" is probably going to bee too tall. The thing is, I need the CP to be about the same height as designed while still losing about 4-5 inches.

I would say try a cardboard mockup if possible to get a feel for it. If you are taller, then maybe that is a good height for you.

I agree with the light being in my face but I can't see myself actually keeping the marquee light on for much of the time. Probably as I am showing the cab off and/or maybe sometimes while I play. But I did think about that and thats why I started it out so big.

How big are some of your Marquee sections? 8-9"? Mine was originally 10" (Top to bottom [   \ )  so maybe I can start there with cutting out some of this height.

with my large cab, my marquee area is like 9 1/4 by 27.  inches...

rbarr110:
My cab is about 6' (72") tall (before putting castors on the bottom).  MOST doors are 6'-8" (80") tall, but that is the dimension of the door, and not the actual through-wall opening.

The 6'-8" does not account for the 1/2" wood trim on the door jamb that stops the door.  So you are looking at about 79.5" clearance, you should be ok, but measure all your doorways that you may be moving the cab through.  Also account for change in floor elevation due to floor finishes, i.e bare concrete from garage to +1" of pad and carpet through the door.

WOW,  all thing that I had (nevr thought about/completely overlooked). Thanks for the insight rbarr110.

I have decided to draw the proportions of the marquee section out on cardboard in full scall so I can get a good Idea of what I am dealing with as far as dimensions.
Maybe it is too tal/wide.  we'll see.
