AVGA & D9200. Games centered in screen, not filling
electricd:
OK..I am finally getting my next 4 player cabinet working. I have a computer setup with a AVGA and a D9200 33" monitor. I used the Mame Resolution tool to create ini files for all the games with the correct resolutions. The problem is that when I load a game like Galaga for example, the screen is a smaller box in the center of the screen surrounded by black. If I turn hardware stretch on it fills, obviously though. Its like the monitor is staying at 800X600 (as it is in Mamewah) and then centering the smaller resolution in the middle. Not sure how to troubleshoot this. I am using .103. Thanks!!

*bump* anyone??
Crazy_Mack:
Which version of MAME are you using?
I remember I had something like that happen with me on MAME32. While I can't remember precisely what I did to correct it, after reviewing the settings on MAME32 I suspect it had to due with either the aspect ratio settings, or the use of the Backdrops or Bezels that can be added (at least these features existed in MAME32 version 0.94).
Hope that helps even a little bit.

Im using the windows command line version of .103. I have artwork and bezels turned off. Thanks.

Ok tried turning all the bezels, artwork, etc off in the mame.ini config. Still not working correctly. The ini file for Galaga is: resolution 512x448. It just seems to center a window inside of the monitor. Surely there is something I am overlooking. Help please..don't want to feel like I wasted $750 on a monitor!
