Arcade Cabinet Opinions for a larger TV?

I use a defender box, and up close, 19" is just fine for most games... especially if you're using a monitor rather than a TV.

Well, I do also want to be able to play gun games on it, and just think that 20" might be a little small for that...

Why do people have misgivings about tilting a tv that size?  Because of the weight?  Just make sure its well supported and don't tilt it too much.  Most cabinets are designed for 27'' TVs and its fine tilting those, I can't imagine a 30'' would make much of a difference.  But then I've never tried it, so maybe the others are right.  If you don't want to tilt it then a showcase cab is your only option, in which case it will take up quite a bit of floor space.

Which is kinda what I was thinking, but was hoping someone might have an idea I hadn't come up with...  :)

Also working on a possible design like the showcase, but where you can retract the CP up against the monitor pedistal when not in use...

I went with a 27" Tv so when I placed it in the machine, the width of the machine could still roll through a doorway to a bedroom or something if I had to move it around.   This way I did not have to disassemble the cabinet after it is built to remove the TV before moving the cabinet.

* you can find a good 27" TV in your local newspaper classifed ads for about $50 to $100 ..... or at least there are many around me from time to time.

While that's true, I already have the 31", I am replacing it with a 32" I am getting from a friend and figured I'd just move the 31" to an arcade cab...
