Just popping in for a mk2 history lesson.
Mk2 introduced babilities, not mk3. Mk2 also introducted friendships. It had more "alities" than any other game. Mk3 introducted the brutality (lame combo kill) and animalities.
So if you want to get technical, umk3 offers the most characters with the most killing methods per character. Now as to if they are considered violent, I dunno.
The Mortal Kombat series switched to "animated violence" as early as mk2. The only game in the series to even attempt at realism was the original mk.
With that being said, I think about as highly of people who play mk just for the fatalities as I do street fighter fans that only play for the mindless 32 hit combos. :)

This was funny!
"This might also be the first game to show pixellated BOOBAGE! That's right... boobies. Booby boob-boob boobies and jugs. Breasteses, if you please.
Fun bags, num-nums, cans, jugs, hey-how-ya-doin's.
Mammaries.
Pretty far out for 1986."
;D
