is better to make the slope on cp or on the cabinet side where the cp is placed?

muffin man:
i c im just having a prolem now now with making the side walls,  i got my top control panel done with joystick and button holes cut out, base (its lenght is same but width is 2 inches less), front wall 47"X4", back wall 33"X3.5",

just need to make sides which are a pain in the ass the get them even.

wish me luck

mccoy178:
I have pics on how I did it.  If I don't have them loaded on my computer yet, I will tonight.  I made the front and the back, then added the sides.  Once I had that accomplished, I tacked a straight piece of wood that ran from the front to the back and used a flush bit router to cut the wood.  Made a perfect line that was in line front to back.  I did find the pics, too lazy to edit this, hope this helps:
1st pic is with one of the side pieces in and routed already

2nd pic is showing how I mounted the piece of wood as a guide

3rd pic is of the last piece in right before I added the guide piece

More Cowbell:
It's definitely worth the extra time and planning to slant the CP box rather than the cab. You don't want your cab to look saggy.

Show us all the shape that you want to make your CP look like.

There's a definite difference in sloping a CP based on the shape of it, which you need to alert us about before you listen to someone's advice when they have no idea what you're trying to accomplish, specifically.

Use MS Paint to draw your shape, if need be.
