Arcadeworldllc, New St Louis Arcade shop
mahuti:
You know it's funny, I never set foot in St. Louis until I was 20, I have still never visited the Arch. I didn't consider St. Louis part of Missouri until I married one of it's citizens.
Since the little missus is from here, my life is a lot easier if I let her live near her family.
Everybody keeps asking if I'm glad to be home.. I'm like, "I ain't home... I'm not from here" :D
Anyway, I like my house, and the area that I live in, if the Missus's family didn't live here, I'd probably still be in Huntington Beach, FWIW. Missouri is a beautiful place, but I can do without the weather.

Oh, and one nice thing that St. Louis has on Kansas City... when I tell people on the coasts where i live, they don't say, Hey, How do you like living in Kansas?

I'm from here enough. :D It's my home now, and I have no complaints. All the hills around here remind me of the Ozarks... where my "people" are from. I know there are a few more people from around here on the boards. I dont' recall who (except for paige.) I know there are a few people from my college town... Springfield as well.
Anyway, I was riding in the passenger seat a few days ago, which is pretty rare, and was stairing aimlessly out of the car... I mumbled "arca...de..... wor...ld.." my eyes snapped open and i said "what the ****?!?" So I checked it out the next day. Its only a few miles from my house. I asked them how long they'd been around and they said 2 months. I've been busy so that explains why I've never noticed it before. My father-in-law and I are going to maybe go buy a pin from there in the next few days, so I'll let you know how that goes. They have a 30 day warranty (on their EM pins) with in-home repair if anything goes wrong, so that's nice. And they deliver. Don't know if there is an extra charge.
They had a few nice machines in there... a donkey kong jr upright (which I was drooling over).. great shape and great price if you wanted a dedicated one without going to the auctions ($1395) Also a nice Q-Bert cocktail. A little beat up, but it looked OK. It wasn't on, I can only assume it works. There were a few assorted other machines of varying degrees of coolness. One lame MAME box complete with LAME

I've got dibs on Springfield :)
Missouri is starting to get a few of these shops. Eldorado Games is in Mt. Vernon, and there is a little shop in Joplin that does EBAY sales primarily. Errrr, can't remember their name but I just bought a beater converted Joust from Stefan in Joplin. Of course we also have 1984 arcade here in town, and now your find a shop in St. Louis. KC has an operator base, but I don't know of any storefront type shops.
Anyway...
Ummm, Hi.
