joystick dustwashers
1/8" plexi

I was planning on doing as Oscar's control panel. (http://www.oscarcontrols.com/sinistar)

I am trying not to have any screws/bolts showing, but I am worried that the flathead screws holding down the plexi will "accidently" or inadvertantly rip/tear/create air bubbles in my CPO.

Here is shots of the countersunk flathead in the plexi.

What do you think?

Can you re-explain your method. I am struggling with this explanation to offer any constructive help.

*Edit. Ok got you now...

mmm, why not just put the dust washers between the joystick base and the plywood?

Dunno his reason, but my reasoning for not doing that was because a .5" deep hole 1 1/8" in diameter looked retarded there.

I never understood why Kelsey used plexi instead of 1/4" plywood.

In any case, is there some kind of filler you can put in the slots of the screws?  My personal experience is that you will be able to tell where the screws are, but it's not a big issue.
