Is this a good soldering iron for pinball/arcade use? Only 40 watts...
(1/1)
2PacMan:
It's only 40 watts and fairly inexpensive, but looks much easier to use than a bulky gun....is this good enough for soldering wires arcade related things??

Should be fine. I prefer these 'pen' style over the 'gun' anyway. I think the 'gun' is overkill for basic wiring.
quarterback:
Oh, a couple other things:
I personally wouldn't spend $18 on one. Harbor Freight has them for less and so does RadioShack and most Dollar Stores/Big Lots
Here's one at RS for ~$8 (and they have others as well)
You'll probably want a smaller tip than what appears to be in the Sears photo. I guess that's a YMMV statement, but I've found it to be true for me.
2PacMan:
Cool, thanks for the advice, i think i'll go with that Radio Shack one....thanks again!
