alright, I might be missing something here, but I grew up using an Atari ST.  Don't you need a keyboard and mouse to use it.  Or is it possible to navigate the OS with the arrow keys?  I know for a fact that some of the games I used to play on it wont work well on an arcade, Monkey Island (greatest game EVER), Little Computer People (precursor to the Sims), The Kings Quest Games and just about any other one that required typing.  Second thought Monkey Island could still work, but the other two couldn't.  so my guess is people are playing some of my other favorites on my ST, Gauntlet and Marble Madness.  but you might as well use an arcade emulator then....

Remember there's also a ton of "arcade-like" games for the ST that were no arcade conversions.
My all time favorite is definitly Nebulus, if you haven't played it, go find it somewhere and PLAY ! It is fantastic.
There's also some shooters coming to mind but cant remember names :S
And there's a zillion more I bet :)

Steem is a VERY good emulator !
