Partitioning a Drive Without Erasing
« on: October 18, 2005, 03:39:00 pm »
I have a computer that has a 120GB HDD. Right now, it is filled with a single NTFS partition and has XP running on it. Is there any way I can add a partition without having to format the drive?

Partition Magic 8 or 9 can.

You just run it from the boot disks (which you can crate while the program is installing, or after) and you can do it from there.
Now in a tasty new flavour.

Can also do it IN windows with PM8-9

pm8-9 = Partition Magic 8 & 9

So either way, whether you do it in Windows or from a boot disk you have to have that program if you want to repartition without losing data.

It also means poo monkey, but trust me when I say you don't want one of those trying to work on your computer. Some things I just have to learn the hard way.

Allways be carefull when partitioning/moving data. I was moving all my data from a 40 gig to an 80 and a buddy of mine triped over the power strip...Lost most of it.
