Cab size question
Cyclops:
G'day, I have asked this question on a local Aussie forum, but I thought I would also check with a broader range of people.
If the height of my cab is 1800mm (~71"), the width of the cab is 750mm (~29/30") do you think it would be ok to have the base depth of the cab about 550mm (~21/22").
Wade:
I don't know, but make sure it is deep enough for your monitor/bezel/glass. I had to add a bulge to the back door of my first cabinet because I miscalculated the thickness of the bezel and glass.

KungFuJoe:
you also have to take into consideration people pushing down on or possibly leaning on the control panel. Is your monitor going to angled? If so, that would help a little with the balance. If it's flat, remember that most of the weight is in the front. I'm not a structural engineer by any means, but it does seem like your cab will be awfully skinny for its height...it's going to stand about 6 feet tall, but the depth is only going to be 22"?
If you can't possibly make it shorter (and use stools instead of standing) or increase the depth, you could put sandbags in the bottom to keep it steady...you definitely don't want the thing to be topheavy.
Cyclops:
I was thinking that the actual weight of the cab would make it hard to tilt. I could always put some weight at the back as you suggest.
I will definatly go with a 600mm depth....
anyway ordered a heap of stuff today....wood/saw horses/screws/glue/jigsaw/clamps/ruler/level etc etc....will have it tomorrow....will have to seriously start planning design now..hehe
Prolly take me 2 months to start!
Cyclops:
Just wondering if anyone else has built a similar sized cab?
Surely I am not the only one who wants a small "footprint"?
Additionaly, can anyone point me to a GOOD, CLEAR description of how the CP attatched to their cab? Having a hard time working out exactly how I am going to do it.
Oh and to answer the prev question - monitor will prolly be flat, maybe a small angle as I want to use a lightgun eventually
