Help wiring Perfect 360

(1/2) > >>

Mani:
Hi all,

Could someone please explain (the way you would explain to a child ... I'm pretty clueless when it comes to wiring and electronics) how to wire the +5v to my 2 perfect 360's?

My setup: Mk2 (jamma) cabinet converted to MAME cab. I'm using a PC and a J-PAC.

I found comments about wiring the +5v from the "led header" of the J-PAC. I'm not sure what this means. If anyone could explain this to me, it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, and sorry again for the total cluelessness.   :-\

ScoopKW:
The best way is to wire it from the molex connectors on your computer. (The plugs that plug into your hard drives and CD-roms and such.)

The RED wire on that plug is five volts. And the black wire next to it is ground for 5v. Don't use the other two, because they are 12v wires...

Thanks Scoop!

So, I'm guessing I'll do this:

1) cut off the actual plug on the molex connector
2) wire the red to the +5v to the P360 #1
3) from the +5v of P360 #1, run a wire to the +5v of P360 #2
4) repeat steps 2) and 3), but for GND (black wire) instead of the red +5v

Does this sound right?

Cheers,
Mani

Sounds correct to me. If not, your PC supply simply won't start up. These things are pretty well protected against shortages etc. However DON'T switch the +5V and the +12 V :)

Mani:
Thanks for the help!!!

Think I can do this without any soldering? Just tie the wires together and wrap it up with electrical tape?
