key wiz eco 2 no solder wiring help

It's in the drop down box on the order page, with header adds like $3.00 to the cost.
And as mentioned in a different thread previously, I chose to use a bunch of old 4 pin header CDROM sound cables in place of an IDE ribbon cable.
I found that much easier to work with.....YMMV.

I just got a GP-Wiz49 Eco and I'm trying to figure out the wiring. Here's a pic of how my brain thinks it works.
Can anyone confirm that this drawing is correct?

Close. The far left wire on the ribbon will actually go to the bottom left hand corner pin on the encoder and the far right wire on the ribbon will go to the top right hand corner pin on the encoder. So you are just one off on all of your labels.

You mean I should flip the cable over, so the red stripe is at the bottom? Wouldn't that give exaclty the same results as what I've got?
