Question for UK members about coin doors

eggedd2k:
i've asked about this before but there was much confusion over how a coin door works - US and UK coin doors and mechs apparently work very differently.

so, a question for UK cab builders/owners:

I am currently in the planning stage of building my own mame cab. i want a fully operational dual (two slot) coin door which will register a credit via a microswitch for ANY coin that is inserted. by ANY coin I mean 5p or 10p or 20p or 50p or

I may be wrong but your best bet will probably to get a dual insert (two player) coin door fram happs and then modify the 25c coin mechs that come with it to accept any coin.

Your other option (are there any more?) would be to get a coin door and mount electronic coin mechs. This would give you the option to insert 10p, 20p 50p and

eggedd2k,

Where are you buying your coin door from? Seems to be very pricey to have one shipped to the uk. Wondered if you have another source?

none of the arcades i've rang have any coin doors and there arent any decent looking ones on e-bay at the moment.

i've found a site which has a tutorial on how to make a coin mechanism with a micro-switch.  All I really need to get hold of is the coin door itself and i can do the rest.

any ideas where i might get a cheap coin door on it's own?
