Gamecube controler Hack

Marky_1979:
How would I or is it even possible to hack a gamecube control pad?

I have just seen an amazing project for an x-box arcade and this has given me the idea for converting my panasonic q gamecube into a home arcade.

I can see this being ideal for games like NHL BLITZ and others but for games that use analogue this might be tricky.

Any comments or suggestions would be good.

Has anyone done this at all?

Many Thanks

Q*Bert_OP:
It will probably work.

HaRuMaN:
Analog is usually difficult to hack, all the other digital controls should be fairly easy.

Thanks alot qbert247 & HarumaN

So would you suggest that i avoid the whole issue of analogue?

Im pleased to hear that it can be done would love to make a console cab with proper arcade controls.

Is there a guide to help me do this wouldnt know where to start.

I assume i buy 4 controlers and take them apart and plug them in as normal is this right?

Cheers guys hope to hear from you soon - Marky

Zathras:
I intend to make a console cab someday (maybe when all the next gen systems come out that way I can have a place to put my old systems...).

What I intend to do is to actually hack ps pads and then use a ps to xbox/GC adapter for the other systems.  PS pads are cheap and very easily hackable.

But if you are just going to be running Gamecube I would just get the cheapest off brand controllers you can find.  If you do a search on hacking PS pads I know there are several walkthroughs and the procedure would be the relatively the same for the GC pad.
